About the Gallery

Hal
Gould was a principal originator of the Camera Obscura Gallery in 1979
at the corner of 13th and Bannock Streets in Denver. It now represents
perhaps the finest collection of Fine Art Photography between the East
and West coasts of the United States. Hal brings a lifetime of experience
with both commercial and fine art photography, and collecting. The Gallery
has become a focus for learning and viewing by folks from all around
the world (most of whom 'discovered' the Gallery and return to gaze
upon walls with images, or to acquire the best collectables of both
classical and emerging artists). It's reputation is evidenced by the contingent of volunteers who help Hal keep the Gallery vibrant with new shows, and with publication of the PFA Newsletter authored by Hal and his associate, Loretta Young-Gautier, which is distributed to thousands of art lovers and collectors worldwide. It can be said that the images visible on the 2500 square feet of wall space are but the 'tip of the iceberg', with hundreds of images filed in drawers and closets and on tables in framing areas.
